What no meat?

I was intending to bake something nice today and post it here, like American cupcakes, carrot cake or a Victoria sponge. However, I realised that we do not have the right equipment yet for baking (e.g. baking trays/tins, or anything to measure the ingredients) and none of the shops in this small town sell them. :-( When I get out of this dead town next, I shall buy the appropriate equipment so that I can attempt some baking. For the meantime, here is a pic of the tofu and vegetable stir fry that I cooked tonight. Hubby is doing well so far in Lent, he hasn't had any meat for quite a while. At least he can still have wine!

  4. Shopgirl- Good question! I saw a recipe for 'American cupcakes' on an English food blog which is why I wrote that. Not sure that I know the answer but I think in England we tend to call them fairy cakes not cupcakes.

lindsey- we're married now! hence hubby..

pj- Tofu isn't as cruel as fois gras. ;-) Actually, he enjoyed the tofu and found it the best part of the meal.
